I dropped a compressor on my main master channel, but when i render to disk it seems to be ignoring this effect. Im selecting MASTER from the render options. Am I missing something?
Anyone else experience this?
Cheers
Neil
Effects on master channel not rendering to disk?
If you select"Master" as the Rendered Track source, then you _should_ render to disk whatever you were hearing as you played the song.
Just this week I had a whole VSTi track NOT render. Everything else was fine, just no sub-bass. Why? I dunno. I closed Ableton, opened it up again... didnt hear the bass... so I hit SOLO on that track and then I heard the bass, un-Soloed it, and re-rendered... and everything was fine.
So, there's my high-tech nerdy super-genius answer for you: have you tried quitting the program and re-opening it? Don't be blinded by my supreme smartness.

Oh, one more thing to check... I've done this before:
I am tweaking my settings on a plugin as the song plays, and I don't notice that I am actually recording automation... so I get two minutes of bad plugin tweakage before I get to the good settings. And it _is_ possible to tweak settings and override the recorded automation-- meaning you hear the last setting on your compressor, but it might render other (inaudible) settings.
(look in the upper right transport area... is there that funny three-lined button next to the OVR button lit up all red? If so, you are temporarily overriding automation, and hearing something other than what Ableton will render.
So go check the master tracks automation. Does the compressor plugin have ared dot next to it? Under the compressor, do any of its settings have red dots? And when you select them do you see envelopes, or just a flat line?
