please help, Live wont load!?!

Hi, i've spent most of the day experimenting with different VST Plug in's today. i've installed a couple from computer music DVD's and a couple from sites which i heard about on the forum, i tried to strike Live up after a couple of hours off it and as it trys to start up it spends ages scanning for VST's on the start up screen and then informs me that that a custom uninstall dll file could not be loaded?!?
I've tried uninstalling the vst's but still can't get Live to load.
My question is if i uninstall Live and then reinstall it would i loose the sets i've been working on? or are they saved on a file in my computer somewhere? please help the thought of loosing my work is scaring me, i know i should of backed up but i haven't. i thought this kind of thing happens to other people not me

Hi,

You should do the following:

-remove the VSTs from there folder, put them in a temporary folder
-delete the preferences.cfg file, found there:

* Windows: C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Application Data\Ableton\Live x.xx\Preferences
* Mac OS X: /Library/Preferences/Ableton

-restart Live
-put back the VSTs by small numbers, and restart Live each time, until you find the wrong one.
