can't find "track freeze" on edit menu!

Post by spudmonster1976 » Sun Mar 25, 2007 9:57 pm

I'm trying to conserve CPU and the Live 5 manual references a track freeze as one method. I'm highlighting tracks (scenes, and clips for that matter) and going to edit menu. No dice. Can anyone show me the way?

right click/ctrl + click on the track name and a menu will appear. There you'll find Freeze Track.

totally weird - all I get is "rename / insert Audio track, Insert MIDI track, Insert return track" tried ctrl-click on clip, scene as well but no "freeze track".

Are you running the full version of Live 5, or a lite version, bundled with hardware? If it's Live lite, it may not have freeze...

thought that after last post. I do have Lite! Well, that blows! Can't spring for Full version just yet (or new CPU). Thnks all.

Oh, any quick simple cheats on how to conserve CPU in my case would be great. Wading through the manual now as I speak.

Peace!

resample the audio with effects into another track, then go back and turn everything off in the original track. that's basically all freezing does...

if you're using any vsti's, try using discoDSP highlife http://www.discodsp.com/highlife/ as well.
