AIFC??? Un-playable audio files???

Last night I was recording with LIVE 5.2 on Macbook. The record file path was set to an external HD (which is how I always do it). This session last night was a JOB for a national touring band and today LIVE will not open the audio files ..... nor will LOGIC or quicktime.......

What is AIFC? is that what LIVE is supposed to record in?....I thought it was aiff.

I am really screwed if the whole two sets are lost. Can you provide me any tips?

I have already verified the external hard disk to make sure that it did not fail.

you need to conert the aifc file to an aiff or wav in an audio editor. when i use wiretap to record audio it records as an aifc and that file is not read by any of my apps. so I convert it and all is good.
