Please can you help. I have just done my first mix which I am please about and now I want to send it to a friend of mine.

Trouble is the recorded mix is now in alc file format and I really would like to burn this CD.

Also what format will it be in? How do I convert to mp3?

Have checked the manual & forum but can't find anything.

Thanks in advance.

I save the recorded mix and it should be the only file in the saved folder....the file is saved as a WAV file and you should be able to burn it straight away...i convert everything to mp3 first using db Poweramp...but thats just me....

You need to *render* your music in Ableton (that should appear in the manual somewhere)...you get to specify some options when doing this...you should end up with a wav file. If you're burning an audio CD, there's no need to convert to mp3...that wouldn't be beneficial to the sound quality.

Yes, select the ENTIRE mix and go to 'file' then 'render to disc'. That will convert it to a wav file. I've been told tho to not let Live Normalize the file tho. Have fun!

I think "dont let Live Normalize" refers to people rendering mixes they want to send to a Mastering studio.

to send to a friend, I think Normalizing is just fine... and probably not a bad idea _if_ you aren't sure whether your song gets close to 0dB or not.

Very true, I forgot to mention I'm still kinda learning the mastering deal. I use Sound Forge to normalize.

Remember if you are going to burn your mix to a CD DO NOT convert it to MP3 first. Burn it directly from the WAV file that you render to maintain all the sound quality.

If you need help rendering take a look at my guide. The rendering section is at the end of the doc.
