Seattle?

Post by ewe » Mon Apr 16, 2007 6:07 am

Hi, new to this fourm and I have a question about Seattle not Live really.
I noticed several posters are from Seattle and I was wondering how the electronic music scene is there, I am living in San Francisco and want to move somewhere where there is more going on!!! And costs less! Never been to Seattle, but I went to Portland, OR and I liked it but I'm a city kid (NY, not SF) and I know Seattles a bit bigger. Thanks a lot in advance, I just want to be in a more inspiring enviornment. I do my thing, but I just don't find like-minded people down here.

Depends on your music preference's

it's not cheap to live here (it's not as expensive as SF though)

some nice people and decent clubs

LSC if you want to see all the top headliners of Breaks, house, trance and techno

there's various "collectives" of music groups

the weathers nice and there's some great places to eat

you just have to come and check it out

peace

I agree, I love the weather here, but most people from Cali don't... Gotta love the windy/rainy Fall though for getting creative in the studio :)

I moved from NYC to Portland.
Then Portland to Seattle.

Seattle seems more "happening" and less insular than Portland.

Check out what Kris Moon (and the laptop battle), 4th city, OSEA and the decibel festival are up to.
Not my thing exactly, but it's pretty active and progressive up here. Without the pretense that I got from a lot of the folk in PDX. And this from a fellow NYer.

Kris hosts a Live users group regularly. It's a very cool thing.

I've got a much better vibe here than in Portland. But I am an old hermit....
