I'm trying to use Ableton Live with my new Mbox (with updated drivers to 5.3.3b2) but every few minutes, particularly when I resize windows and open up menus, the mbox will freeze and then blast an awful burst of noise before resuming normalcy.
These are the specs for my computer.
Compaq Laptop PC with Windows XP w/ Service Pack 1 and other updates.
512 MB of RAM
2.5 Ghz AMD Athlon XP Processor
40 Gig Hard Drive
is there any more info you think I'd need to list here for my computer?
ANyway, I've tried using the MBox with my older Pentium 4 (equipped with my rock-solid Audiophile 24/96) and there weren't any noise bursts, except for crackle on reverb tracks and the inability to play some of my more complex compositions without slight hiccups.
help! Do I need to optimize my laptop in any way? Should I consider another audio interface?
