how's the UB version of Reaktor running on your blackbook? any better running it as an AU vs. a VST vs. standalone?

my lowly powerbook can barely do anything anymore.

I haven't gotten into building anything yet with it. But with such a huge user library, chances are someone's already built it. Of course the best ensembles were in the EI 2 XT release.

It's not that intimidating if you accept that it's going to take time. Sooner or later, you'll find something that catches your interest and makes you want to build a better mouse trap. It's all downhill from there...

reaktor's been totally unusable on my g5 for the past 3 months.
always crashes or unactivates itself. total shite

so far, NI tech support has been helpless.

Well that depends on whether you want to build synths or not. I don't care to, I just want to learn and use 'em. Make a bit of customization later.

If you look at it as a non-builder, it's just a whole bunch of synths and instruments with no more of a learning curve than any other plug-ins really.

I just spent an hour tweaking the subharmonic synth. Even the simple are so much fun and have very interesting functions.

oh, and it's been rock solid and very cpu efficient on my macbook pro. Very much in-line nowadays with other soft synths out there cpu-wise.
