nope, that's a battery problem

you need to send it back and have it replaced

but be quick! if you bought your Macbook when it was out (last year in MAY), you got a month left on your warranty!

good luck (but you won't really need it, Apple is aware of this and has been replacing batteries for months)

Does it have a little X on the battery icon? The only other thing you could try is to reset the SMC. Check the apple discussion boards for Macbook.

You will see that there are some issues with the battery. Mine seems to be running out rather quickly.

I actually was just down to 8%, went to get my adapter, plugged it in, and now I have an X on the battery. This happened once before, but it seemed to fix itself after it charged for awhile. As I said previously, my battery seems to be going awfully quickly, down to 88% of initial potential after just a month. Maybe time to go to the apple store this weekend.

Good luck.

Just FYI. Both times that this has happened to me, a reboot fixed it.

I know you already rebooted because you reset the SMC. So, I would guess you are having worse issues than I am.
