Some things I work with all the time are re-mapping existing controller messages to others. It would be great to have a MIDI Multi-tool that could map a controller to pitch bend, or a controller to another controller. (Or any message to any other message for that matter. Splits, filters etc. for control change messages would be fantastic.
More MIDI tools in general please. Love the current ones, but would love more that handle controllers and other MIDI messages. System Exclusive recording, storage and playback would be great, as I do dumps and recalls from hardware pieces al the time.
For songwriters that write with vocals, a lyric track displaying the lyrics would be great to have. This of course would sync up for playback. As it sits right now, I use a VST plugin to store my lyrics on a virtual 'Note Pad'. Clunky, but at least they're stored with the song.
Also, having tempo control on the master track is great, but it would be nice to be able to import a tempo track from a MIDI file, or read it from a file like another MIDI track. This would be helpful when syncing to another person's sequence when Live is not set as a slave. Right now I have to play a sequencer with a traditional MIDI tempo track 'wild' into live, unsynced, to record tempo changes from another sequence.
