Many midi controls to one action? beatmatching to turntables

Post by kinnik » Tue May 01, 2007 1:05 am

I'd like to setup 3 midi CC's to my main tempo control so I can beatmatch Ableton to my turntables (instead of always having to go TT's to Able).

One slider for ruff Tempo (say a range of 60 to 187)
One slider for fine tempo (0 to 12.7 ?)
Pitch bend to push/pull tempo (0 to 2.54 ?)

Anyone know if this is posible? Or another way of doing this that I've not thought of?

THX,
Kin

hmmm...

Have a search. Someone had created something in Bidule, I think. In any case you are not the first to want this, so there are some threads with information and discussion

I did try for afew hours before posting this.

but atleast now I've got some reason to stay motivated in finding this.

check this out too, it doesn't have all the functions you want, but it'll let you do bends.

between this and maybe setting a fader to control tempo it might sort you out though. can't say i've used it, but it sounds like it'll help you...

AH YES!
Thank you Clear!

It may not be as precise as I'd have gotten with 3 controls but I think it may just get me by..

thanks again Longjohns.

Push/pull is working quite well! but it's abit cumbersome to setup so I may try this.

Still it would have been much easyer if I could have just assigned more than one midi cc to the tempo... or if Ableton put coarse and fine tempo along with push and pull features ;P

crossed media mixing!

Good suport! Thanks all!
