Quickly moving between multiple live sets, any suggestions?

Post by sonogram » Thu May 03, 2007 10:12 pm

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions about using multiple live sets during a live show. For what I do it's not feasible to use one "master" session as I've read elsewhere on this forum because I use completely different loops (pre-recorded) and completely different synths/effects for each set. So to keep the cpu overhead low I use different live sets. The drawback is having to go to my laptop and open each set between songs which takes some time and takes away a bit of the live mystique. Ideally I'd like to completely hide my computer on stage and control everything with a simple midi controller, somehow opening live set's remotely? Anyone running this sort of setup, comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! :D

Why not to have a CD with a "transition" part on it and just play it between sets? this will give you plenty of time to close one set and open the next. :D
Just my .02 cents.

With Live 6 you can run multiple instances of Live at once, but you can't sync them.

That's good news! Master/Slave them through IAC or MIDI Yoke?? I swear it wasn't always like that.
