Recording Reaktor

Post by Ned » Fri May 04, 2007 3:30 pm

Does anybody know of a way to to get ableton to record the movements inside reaktor just like it does with other instuments. I can record my controller movements but I would all so like to record things I do inside it.

as far as i know you can record just the movements made on the two parameters that you can assign on the live interface for reaktor (in the instruments/effects bar)

You would need to midi-enable the knobs, buttons and faders you control in reaktor first, I think. After that it should record the movements. Also, they should be exposed to Live by being numbered below the 127th plugin parameter mark -you can sort these in Reaktor too.

I heard there is a workaround with the free plugin Trollo, which records mouse moves for 2 parameters...
I'm really new to Reaktor,so i won't be of great help, but i'd be glad to know how to do too :)

I wasn't aware of any problems in automating the VST
parameters in Reaktor synths and effects in Live 6.

I have done this in arrangement view with no trouble.

I didn't need to do anything special - at least none that
I recall.

Not so- you can use host automation. You'll still need to enable automation for the control, though. That's done on the same page in the control's properties that you'd enable MIDI automation.

Now there you're talking host automation. Reaktor doesn't use NRPNs for MIDI automation, so all you can choose from for MIDI automation is the defined controllers 0-127. With host automation, the number of parameter ID's unlimited, but most hosts will only record the first 128 parameters as automation.
