Is Live G4/Altivec optimised?

This point was raised in the "Live Performance Test" thread but I thought it deserved its own.
So - is it?
If not, will it be?

I didn't see a altivec extension when I downloaded the 1.5 demo (which I believe in OS9 you can usually see the altivec extension).
