MIDI track volume maximum

How do I midi assign ableton track volumes to not go all the way up (100%)and peak out.

When MIDI mapping it, you can set the min and max values. Set the max value to 0db.

Theres all this absolute and relative stuff. None of them have and ajoining window for db settings. I hate to seem like a dumba** but can someone please tell me whats up ???

I'm assuming you're in live 6.

When you hit ctrl / cmd + M to go into Midi Map Mode, under the browser buttons to the left appears an extra button with a circle inside another circle. Click it and it will open a window with midi mappings list. There you can set min and max values for each controller you have mapped. When you click on a mapped parameter in Live it will be highlighted in the list (saves searching time).
