OT: You just have to love America!

Where else in the world can you sue someone for $65 mil. over a lost (but later found) pair of pants?

You just gotta love it! And it's a judge who is suing! :D

And everyone probably remembers the McDonald's case where someone spilled coffee on her self and got millions for it!

The litigation culture adds significantly to insurance costs here. Partly why hiring a contractor costs from $75 p/h. Ridiculous.

Christ.

Deportation's too good for this cunt.
Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

Dude is going to lose his suit, have to pay all their legal defense fees and costs, and probably lose his job.

The link I quote below wrote:On behalf of the American Tort Reform Association, which works to combat lawsuit abuse, I urge you to carefully reconsider the reappointment of Administrative Law Judge Roy Pearson Jr. to a 10-year term, scheduled to commence in three days on May 2.
'Tort' is the term for proper court 'etiquette' in the US judicial system. He's been called out by his peers.

the rest here....
http://www.overlawyered.com/2007/05/the ... e_roy.html

That was 18 days ago, lots of links, dunno what's current.

Anyway, changes of power in France and England and all these f-ing US threads... 'sup Euro-peeps??

Here's a CNN report about the case:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOqsCJVL8p0

Also note the frivolous lawsuits at the end of the clip. A man is suing Michael Jordan, because he looks just like him and he's tired of it! OMG!

Did anyone ever listen to the Phil Hendrie show? There was this character called Steve Bozell, who always sued everyone for the most amazing reasons. I thought that was funny, but didn't realize how true to life the character actually was! Here are some of Bozell's lawsuits from the show: http://www.angelfire.com/ca4/philhendrie/lawsuits.html
