Rewire multicore support?

I did a quick search, but couldn't find any mention of this.
I recently upgraded to a MacbookPro, Core2Duo. On the Live preference menu i can select the Multicore/Multiprocessor support 'YES' option, but the Multicore/Multiprocessor Rewire box says 'NO' and is greyed out.
This is the case regardless of whether I have a rewire slave open or not.
Anyone else noticed this?
