Justice bass

Post by sesshin » Sat Jun 02, 2007 6:41 am

hi there. new to Live as well as the forum.

i'm looking to recreate the bass sound used by Justice.

Big, Warm, Fat, Round, Fuzzy Analog.

If you aren't familiar with their music i put a sample here:

http://www.dwellunderground.com/justice_sample.mp3

whats the best way in Live to try and recreate these sounds? i've messed around with the presets but nothing has enough OOMPH.

try a real finger played bass or hardware synth (fm or analog) passing thru hardware tube eq's and great distortion (think analog hardware btw too)... these guys (justice) do not use complex vst's or live 6 racks, they just rock it with hands !! (and I may assume cubase or logic to achieve their perfectly constructed trax)

(but to my mind they're zeros on stage !!!)

btw: don't try to reproduce someone's sound, you will be just a "wannabe", frustrated even if you get their sound, that will remain THEIR sound !

good luck
