New Feature in Live 7:
-------------------------
In addition to the Bugs & Problems forum we'll be setting up a specific 'Yes we know the MIDI doesn't actually work properly but you now have Pluggo Runtime to contend with' fora....all Live plugs will open really slowly the first time, be riotiously unstable, not render correctly and the initial installation will be scattered randomly over your drive in the hope that you won't immediately notice that the MIDI still doesn't work properly....

not going to happen.
Imagine if it is something really big.
EG : the Abling74 transforma control surface with 3d visual recognition-o-graph,
They announce that this is what they are working on and it will be ready by next year sometime. But by next year, deadlines slip a little and it arrives in september 2008.
At which point everyone says 'so what, you told us about that a year ago', it gets little press and sinks like a stone.
Alternatively, if it is only a small thing (not very likely) such as a 'pluggo-device' , then it will be finished this year and would be announced at one of the big shows.
If it doesn't get announced at one of this years shows be glad that 1: it must be something big and complex, 2: it's not being rushed.
who wants a hurriedly built complicated thing?
also, I'm not exactly dying creatively without this thing that I don't know what it is. I mean, I've not even got enough time in the day to try LiveAPI yet!

That's why I wanna know before I commit to the python thingy ...Tone Deft wrote:I'm starting to think it's something that will make the Python scripting long since forgotten. Possibly the same thing as the Pythin access but with MAX objects (graphical programming), a Max object editing window.
That's gonna take more than a couple of days off the calender...
To tell you the truth that's my bet as well...
...and it's probably gonna cost extra dough...
They're just BIG TEASERS!!! there it is I said it....
My plan is to learn a little MAX, learn a little Python and when they announce what the hell is up it'll be months before I can buy Live 7, in that time I'll commit to one or the other and apply that to monome tech and Live.3dot... wrote:That's why I wanna know before I commit to the python thingy ...Tone Deft wrote:I'm starting to think it's something that will make the Python scripting long since forgotten. Knowlege never hurts, especially when the Python tools are free.
In my life
Why do I smile
At people who I'd much rather kick in the eye?
