Yet Another Ableton Skipping Thread 6.0.7

Hey Everyone -

I just purchased a Macbook 2.0 Intel Core 2 Duo with 2 GB RAM, 160 GB HD

I use Live mostly for DJing, run 0 Vsts, only the Live Effects. I DJ with 320kbps Mp3 loops and traxx.

My soundcard is a Fast Track Pro USB

So, I can get it to skip pretty consistently if I mess with one of the two :

1 - I have a block of loops, I highlight all of them, press delete, and I get a skip / pop. To avoid this, I place a new loop in the channel, and move it over the old one to delete it, no more pop.

2 - If I want to create a loop inside a track, on the fly, I get pops and skips...Have not found a way to work around this yet.

Any suggestions?

Oh yah, I forgot to add my last notebook was a Sony Vaio VGN C series, with 1.66 Core 2 Duo and same sound card, 2 gb of ram. Never had a problem on the Sony...ever.

Ok, so after a bit of testing, the soundcard is definitely causing this problem. It is an M AUDIO USB Fast Track Pro

Any suggestions? Would a firewire card solve this?
