Toshiba Crackle-mania

Hello all, I just bought a Toshiba Satillite P-100 specifically for ableton playing, and on paper, I figured it would run the program without problem, given that it has a Centrino Duo 1.6ghz, and my desktop only has an Athlon 2600+ and runs Ableton perfectly. The vista laptop itself it perfectly zippy when running programs, etc, closing and opening without much problem. however, ableton has gone crackle mad - pausing and distorting practically constantly. it only really stops when i put the output latency up by about a second, but that is just ridiculous. i dont understand why I am having such problems running ableton on this laptop and it is really making the whole purchase seem like a waste of time..

a gig of DDR2 ram + Ableton 6.07 btw

Anyone know what the problem might be?

the satellites completely suck for audio

search the toshiba forum for "audio glitch maybe fan related"

there are workarounds but they still suck and toshiba are completely silent on the matter

my advice would be take it straight back and get your money back
