Computer Hardware

Post by billheath » Fri Jun 15, 2007 6:10 pm

I know this has been asked 1000 times but I can't find a suitable answer. I've been using Live 6 for a few months and have decided to upgrade my computer. What should I buy? I have to stick with a PC setup for variuos reasons like Work!

The local computer store reccommended: Intel Raid 775 motherboard; core E2 E6420, 2.13 GHZ proccesor;2 GB Corsair SMS2 PC6400 memory; Seagate 320 GB SATA Drive and a NIVIDIA 8600, 256 MB DDR3 vidio card.

I want to make sure I am not going to regret the purchase. I will be stuck with it for awhile! I am not a gamer. Just want to make music and refinish pictures with adobe photoshop.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Bill

what kind of monitor do you have? a 30" LCD would be a treat for any musician/artist...

I have 2 -19" LCD side-by-side.
My biggest concern is - Is this a powerful enough computer to run Live without latency and other problems?
