change lenght of a sound

Hello everyone,
I created an empty midi clip and i putted the Sample effect on it.
I put a sound on it - a little bassline- but when i enter to pencil mode and draw the notes, i just see squares and the lenght is limited to - one square-
I dont want to change the Tempo speed.

drag end of note to make it longer

or change size of the grid from 1/32 to 1/1

If yur on mac (with the pencil tool OFF) use the "option" key to temporarily release the grid lock. When the cursor turns to "] or [" over the edges of a note... drag freely to adjust length independent from grid setting.

I'm sure there is a Windows equal, just don't know what the modifier key is for that.
