OS X 10.4.9 and Live 6

I've returned to Live after quite some time and have gone through all the lessons and the manual, but have a problem. My Intel powerbook and Live both recognize the Ozonic input device - sound registers just fine in OS X System Sound set-up - but for the life of me I can't get an audio signal in Live. I've tried removing and reinstalling all SW, midi works just fine, lesson audio tracks are fine, but although I have selected appropriate track inputs, I still don't get an input signal. Please, what am I doing wrong here? Thanks in advance!
