Vocals: Good plug-ins for harmonies?

Post by sparky606 » Mon Jun 18, 2007 6:12 pm

Hi,

I've been using Ableton for about six weeks and what a great piece of software it is.

I've just been recording my first vocals and would like a plug-in for creating nice, tight harmonies, but I found out today that Waves plug-ins aren't compatible with Live 6.0 on a MacBook Pro.

I found one called AkaiDecaBuddy which looked like it might do the job but that has been discontinued!

I wonder if anybody might be able to point me in the direction of good plug-ins or even good techniques for making my vocals sound more professional, and in particular for creating harmonies to match MIDI sent from my keyboard?

Any general advice for a newbie recording very amateur sounding male vocals over electronica/beats would be very much appreciated!

I use a copy of the old akai decabuddy plugin, i'm not sure what the rules are for sharing on this forum, but just letting you know its obtainable. Is it ok if it's discontinued? haha. pm me or whatever for more info. I don't want to get in trouble on the forum.

Hi Tim,

Thanks - appreciate the response and will drop you a PM.

Since posting I've learned that the classic Orange Vocoder is also not compatible with Ableton on an Intel Mac - seems like many of the best plug-ins aren't compatible with Ableton on my shiny new MacBookPro!
