I play the keyboard for a rock band, and i use live to run various vst's in session view. I use an M-Audio Keystation Pro 88 to play the vst's as well as arm the tracks I want to play (I just map the buttons and faders I need, because the keystation control mapping doesn't have anything mapped to the arm buttons). This worked great until we started using a midi keyboard as a foot controller to trigger clips and the stop transport button. We mapped these to the c key's on the foot controller(keyboard), which has 5 octaves, hence 4 clips + stop. Now that the foot controller is assigned, everytime I hit the c keys on my keystation, It triggers a clip.
It seems to me that Live doesn't differentiate between remote controllers. Is this true?
Is there anyway to work around this and still use the CCs from my keystation as well as the foot controller?
(as of now, I just use my computer keyboard to arm the appropriate sounds)
Any help her would be much appreciated.

Live cares unless I'm missing your point, the question is a bit obfiscated.
- Pay attention to what controllers under options-preferences-midi have REMOTE IN set to them
- on a midi track above the fader, below the clips look for the routing boxes, the top one says "ALL INS" set that to a specific device.
or on your keyboard mess with the foot controller settings.
Synth rock...

For track in (playing) it sure does care what controller you play. But you'll have to select the one from midi in drop-down menu.
For remote mapping - I don't think Live cares. But I might be wrong and Tone right. Try using different midi channels when mapping. And also use different channels for playing and remote mapping.

It doesn't care about remote mapping, assigning C2 to a control and hitting C2 on ANY device with Remote IN engaged will fire off that control. There's enough notes and CCs this shouldn't be a problem.Lo-Fi Massahkah wrote:For track in (playing) it sure does care what controller you play. I'm not sure, you might be right, either way it's enough info for him to chew on, enough even a rocker could figure it out.

I think we're actually agreeing.Tone Deft wrote:It doesn't care about remote mapping, assigning C2 to a control and hitting C2 on ANY device with Remote IN engaged will fire off that control.
