recommended footpedal

Post by kinkajou » Thu Jul 05, 2007 7:06 pm

i'm loooking for a simple and useful footpedal that i can use for triggering events in Live (just for an example: the legendary live looping ;) ).
it should be simple with maximum of two pedals.

i DON'T want the FCB 1010, its just too huge for my studio, there is no room for this giant... ;)

please recommend me some controllers and tell me why i should use your recommendation.

thanks in advance,
kinka

You must live in a cardboard box? The FCB isn't that big at all.

I don't really know of any other foot pedals in this price range (things start getting expensive fast). There is the Rig kontrol foot pedal, but you'd have to buy Guitar Rig 2 of course!

as long as you can live without expression pedals, these are worth a look...

ok, thank you for answering...

@fatrabbit:
i'm not living in such a box :D but there is really no space.
on the other hand - i never saw that FCB 1010 in natural... can't imagine its real dimensions... ;)

@clearscreen:
it's real funny but i don't think it's what i'm looking for... ;)

Voodoo Lab make one without the expression pedal, it's called the Ground Control Pro. This is the one Kid Beyond uses.

I hope this helps

After much deliberation I bought the Yamaha MFC10.

I think it's discontinued but you can still pick them up.

has 10 buttons and 1 expression pedal, you can connect additional footswitches to it and it has an input for a wind controller.

reasons to buy: smaller than the FCB, reasonable price, big illuminated numbers on each switch, well constructed, it's made by Yamaha.

reasons not to buy: like most of these systems it's not really designed as a trigger device but more as a patch selection device for guitar fx etc. it can be configured to trigger clips etc, but the little red light on each button just tells which one you last pressed, they can't be used to indicate the status of some feature in the software - eg so that you can see at a glance which loops are currently active.

personally I think the market is wide open for a pedal board specifically tailored for controlling sequencer functions.
