For some reason I ended up getting my instrument rack and audio effects messed up, I can't even remember what I did. I uninstalled Ableton and reinstalled it so that the effects and instruments would come back and be in the right spot. They did not come back. I had a friend who also has Ableton zip up the instrument rack, audio effects, and midi effects, all which had gone missing from my program, and send them to me. Though my program could finally find them all and wasn't presenting me with blank lists, none of them work when I apply them to tracks! It just says "Sample Missing" and has a huge list of missing files.
Why when I reinstall the program does it not load everything back up??? I've deleted every ableton file on my computer and reinstalled the program all over again and there is still missing samples no matter what i do.
Why is this happening...
Replacing missing samples is very mysterious. General opinion is that it will only work if you first manually replace one (with the little circular arrow hot-swap thing on a particular sample in the file manager)
and then tell it to search with only the middle of the 5 search options highlighted...
repeat as needed
