Ableton Live Lite 6 enhanced edition

Post by Shaun new ableton user » Tue Jul 17, 2007 8:08 am

Hi can someone offer advice re: ableton live lite - I have been trying out the lessons but I get so far and the instructions say '...now save your work...' but I can't because the software is in demo mode. Is this a normal thing?

For a new user the training is a bit confusing...any suggestions or help?

Thanks Shaun

You need to register your Live Lite. You shaould have had a Green Postcard with Live LIte that had the serial number on.

thanks for replying. I am registered but I still get the same problem. Under live lessons, live basics, creating beats. On the first page the student is asked to '...please click here to load the live set...' and sure enough the software goes in to demo mode.

Any ideas?

I don't think there's a need.

He's got Live Lite. It can run in Lite mode or Demo mode. Sounds like when he follows the lessons, Live switches from Lite to Demo mode (maybe to use functionality that Lite does not allow). Of course, in Demo mode, he can't save. This is probably an oversight, because the lessons are not necessarily geared to the Demo mode, as they are distributed with the full software as well.

I could be wrong of course. :)

maybe he's running operator or sampler in demo mode, in that case any version of live runs in demo mode where you can't save stuff.

as per tonedeft

if you deselect everything except the main app on launching you should be able to continue in non-demo mode
