Effect Rack doesnt load correct effect

Hithere alltogether,

I stumbled upon a minor yet annyoing issue: I saved an effects rack (1 chain, multiple vst effects) and when inserting it into an audio/midi channel, it loads one of the effects wrong. It only happend with one particular plugin, yet it may translate to others. In this case I had two versions of the freeware plugin "tubedriver" (0.77 & 0.94) in my vst folder. They have different file names, so i suspect that Live doesn't search for the filename but the plugin ID when loading a chain. Since I want to keep the different plugin versions, could that problem be corrected?

Btw, when opening whole songs, Live is loading the respective plugins correctly, so I think it is a problem of the effects rack.

PC is a core2duo, 2gb RAM & RME HDSPe/MultifaceII, running Live 6.0.7 on WinXP.

Hi,

Well, I guees the plugin developper gave the same id to both versions. If that is the case, there is not a lot we can do. Couldn't you 'archive' the older version(s) of your plugins outside your plugin folder? Do you need them there?

thanks for your response! Your suggestion about moving one file out of the vst folder of course does work. I was just wondering why there is a difference in how an effects rack preset and livesets are loading plugins.

As I stated the correct plugins are loaded when opening whole songs. So in that case Live seems to treat the loading of plugins differently to loading just an effects rack.

Anyways, just wanted to report my findings, it actually is just a minor annoyance.
