changing instruments

hey....
i got ableton and im hella confused by it..

i arm an instrument and then record something that's 1 bar long
and then i arm another instrument to record a different bar

but when i arm the 2nd instrument and play everything back, the 1st instrument is changed to the 2nd instrument too....

lol, stupid question i know......but im totally lost. can someone help me out?

sounds like you're having trouble with Session View. You should do some of the lessons that come with Live so you can get a feel for how to use it. Also spend some time reading the manual.

Remember that you can toggle between two views, Session and Arrangement. Arrangement is for more linear recording while Session is based on Loops.

In Session if you want to record more than one bar, just press the circle that was formerly a square before you armed it. You can only extend the loop to as many bars as you have recorded.
