Korg MS-20 hardware controller in Ableton!

Post by Bassic Dave » Sat Aug 04, 2007 9:33 pm

Is anyone having any problems with this? My patch cables will show up on the vst when I plug them in, but the dont go away when i pull them out.... I think the problem might be with ableton and not my controller.

Thanks Homies

you have to be sure your track is armed, and than it works good for me

The controller absolutely rocks. The synth is so awesome, and its so much funner to actually touch it that to fiddle with a plugin with a mouse.

I do have the track armed, its just the patch cables that dont work. Everything works fine in standalone mode, just not as a plugin. Knobs and keys work great, but try taking one of the yellow cables and patching something, does not work.

If yours works fine which version do you have? I have 1.10.

Thanks 4 your help,
D.

i love my ms 20. real easy to experiment with. only problem i had was having to set it up on my intel-mac. i ended up having to buy the usb key. sucks having to spend more money when i bought it 2 years ago from guitar center. oh, and legacy doesn't work very well in osx. wtf is that all about? but the basic ms20, polysix, wavestation all rocks.
Macbook 2ghz c2d, 2gb ram, osx 10.5.5, live 8.0.8, fw-1884, ms20, x-session, 2xLP

Bassic Dave, I am having exactly the same problem....

Works perfectly in stand alone, but it doesn't register patch leads being pulled out. I actually messed around a few days ago with the midi settings on the input/output/sync for the ms20, and I switched off my apc40 and it did register a couple of times, but it was very sporadic.

It seems like a bug to me. Do you have a controller?

I'm on a macbook pro with an apc40 and obviously the korg legacy..

Come on ableton, please give us an answer! :?: :? :?:

yes, there's definitely still an issue with the MS-20 controller and live 8.X.X. i don't recall if the problem existed in live 7 (or 6...)

it was touched on in this old thread: http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=116389
