Guru and Live (Guru not saving)
Guru and Live (Guru not saving)
So I just got Guru to use as my drum machine within Live. But I am having problems.
So I open Guru within live, create a beat using my mouse by using the XoX programming grid. Then I hit save, and load it back up and everything on the grid is empty. Thus, no beat.
Can anyone help, I've already lost several cool beats this way...

Hello,
What is it that you save? The Live set, the GURU preset? If you saved the Live set, did you re-open the same Live set?
Also, do you have the latest version of GURU, which version of Live? Mac or PC?
We've not heard of such problems, so with a bit more of information, we should find where the error lies.
Regards,
Amaury

My version of Live is the Full version updated within the month.
The version of Guru is 1.0.2.5.
Yes, I save the live set, and then reopen it to see if it saved. Nothing in the grid saves so all my drums go away. I don't have this problem with another drum machine, microtonic. With this program I save the live set and it saves the grid entries.
Thanks for your help.

I think Guru is a separate app. Is it working through Rewire? If it's a separate application then you usually have to save a Guru file and an Ableton file and maybe even open both when starting the live set. Try that, maybe?
Macbook Pro 15" Core Duo 2.16ghz 2GB ram; Live 6.0.10; Live 7.0.7; Digi 003 Rack; Novation Remote Zero SL;Faderfox micromodul LC2, Korg Kontrol49; M-Audio Trigger Finger

that's a good question: you use GURU as a VST plugin right?
Also, is it a Mac or a PC you're using? Which one?

Download the latest version of Guru, its now up to version 1.1.280. I don't know whether that will fix your problem, but I can say that I don't have the same problem you have with the latest version of Guru (I've used this combo on both Mac and PC, and it works like a charm) and Live 6.0.7.
Also, what I do is click the save button in Guru's interface, then save that file alongside the Live set. That way, I'll never lose the samples, and I can use that pattern/drumset in other Live Sets or Logic Songs.
