Strange audio problems

Post by Vaughan » Tue Aug 07, 2007 7:57 am

I'm having a problem which seems to occur at random in Live.

Tracks often generate a strange constant buzz or sometimes a white noise tone - though I have no idea why. This usually occurs when I hit global play - one or two of the tracks will simply output these strange sounds.

These sounds cause their track volumes to go through the roof, very unpleasant. If I look at the device chain for these tracks, the noise is occurring without any input going in. The volume meter has nothing going in. But it (obviously) has sound coming out.

On other occassions, the tracks simply play normally. I can't seem to control the cicumstances under which the problem occurs. The abnormal sounds can occur even when there are no clips playing on those tracks. There are no dodgy VSTs on there or anything either.

I would be very grateful for any advice or support on this problem - it's stopping me from getting on with things :(

Thanks,
-Craig.
