record MONO when routed from other track

Post by forge » Fri Aug 17, 2007 10:23 am

unless I'm missing something if you use one track as an input track then route it to several other tracks - for example in a live looping setup, then you cant actually record in MONO which is a shame as in most Live looping situations you only need mono

as I discovered it when I was doing this;

The ableton mixer is stereo only.
Plus 1 for this (I'd like it to be able do mono too if poss)

+1 on this. Most DAW can deal with actual mono tracks, which would be a nice implementation, but even just the ability to only record the left or right channel onto a new mono track would be something... It's quite annoying to see you're taking up double the space and extra processing power to create a "mono" stereo track.

Cheers

I can't believe that after so many versions of live, this is still not implemented. It feels like you are missing something, trying to do something that seems so totally basic but it's just not possible. This makes me feel noobish without my fault...
