PHOTON X25 FIXED!!! - MAC

Okay so for anyone who had the same problem as i did with the photon x25 and the new macbook pro's (Intel - running 10.4.9) - i figured out how to get it to work...

Download the combo update to 10.4.10 from apple (right hand side of the downloads page, its about 270mb) .. install that..

Off the alesis site get the photon x25 usb fix from the downloads section...
you will need a pc in order to do this part... follow instructions to erase firmware and flash new firmware to device..

then i just plugged it into the macbook.. did the midi setup.. and huzzah.. it works.. even in Live 5.2 ( i read someone could get the photon working but not in live)

*** one quetion though - can;t seem to assign any controls.. though the modulation wheel works fine... anyone got any answers to this one?

Try to reset the parameters. Hold down both octave buttons while powering up. Then press page right.

be wary of the above comment - it may work, i tried it but it froze up and i had to reflash the firmware to the X25 which is a pain in the ass

especially if you dont have a pc with the software handy..
