HELLO ALL,IM NEW HERE,I WAS JUST WONDERING IF ANY ONE COULD POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION,I WOULD LIKE TO RECORD SOME SAMPLES FROM VINYL,BUT I CANNOT SEEM TO WORK IT OUT,I HAVE READ THE MANUAL BUT AM NO WISER,IF ANY ONE COULD HELP ME OUT IT WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL,THANKS FOR YOUR TIME..

Hello,
I probably can't be much help but I'm in the same situation. I'm using the audiophile 2496 card and Live. I've run the turn table into a mixer plugged into the sound card. I bring up the Audiophile Control pannel and use the settings for analog recording as per the manual (mostly default). I seem to be getting a signal to the control pannel OK, but after that nothing. I've also followed the manual for Live settings. I get no sound out and am unable to record. You've probably covered the same bases, but if I solve the problem I'll let you know and would appreciate the same. Good luck

try to record from a good audio editor like soundforge or wavelab,then open it in live.i have never really recorded from in live from an external audio source.like that you'll be able to clean your recording.
if you don't have an audio editor:
first you need to choose the input you wanna use in the preference tab ,
then you need to choose the audio source you want to record from in the main window(from master or from the input of the soundtrack),
then you press the little button at the bottom of the track next to the slider,
then you press play on the clip & it records.
to exit the recording mode press the little buton again.
i know it's tricky to understand but once you get it you'll be laughing at how easy it is.
i have to say that when i got live first i didn't undestand the manual at all,it's so badly explained,but you need to try everything & you'll see how easy it works.

waggle,
try to connect your turntable to an external phono box then routing the signal inside Live, arm your track on record and everything should go ok..
then you can open your wav or aiff file inside an audio editor and make all the edits you need...
