Any effect that transposes midi clips?

Post by kiwipicker » Tue Aug 28, 2007 12:12 pm

Maybe I am daft, but is there an effect I can use that will work like the transpose knobs on simpler and impulse? i use iDrum lately for some beats, and I wanted to be able to turn a knob like i do on impulse to transpose the whole kits pitch. the pitch plugin just selects different hits in the kit, it doesnt pitch them up and down all together.
i could just resample the clips to audio and transpose the audio clip, but I am hoping to make a rack where one of the macros would be transpose. cheers

You want a realtime pitch shifter. Go over to kvraudio.com and look out for it.

I use Discord by AudioDamage.

I not 100% sure if the free Pluggo Junior (cycling74.com) contains a pitch shifter.

but,
in Live itself you can use the Grain Delay to pitch shift your audio:
-set it to 100% wet
-set the delay time to 1ms.
-now you can shift the pitch in the pitch field

cheers

Put the impulse kit in a rack, then map each drum slot's pitch knob to a macro knob on the rack. this what macros are for.

also doing this you should still be able to do per drum slot pitch envelopes in addition to doing the accross the board pitch change for the kit.

and you don't have to waste cpu cycles on a spectral pitch shifting plug in.

though, if that's what you want I suggest Michael Norris' free spectral plugs.

i think he ment to pitch the audiostream from a third party plugin (idrum) with one knob, rather than doing useless macromapping - which is mapping existing 8 pitch knobs in impulse to 8 macro knobs ?!

if i got you right......

yeah, i wanted to do it for iDrum because it sounds not the same to me when the samples are in impulse. but for some reason, iDrum only lets you midimap pattern, so i may have to try to convert to impulsse anyway
