Can anyone suggest a good synth for making trancey swhoosh sounds?
The kind you have leading up to a build up.

any synth with a noise oscillator. Just dial in some white noise and whack a bandpass/lowpass filter on it, then play with the cutoff - sweep it from low to high for a buildup. Maybe add another oscillator (saw wave?), sweep the pitch along with the noise filter sweep then put some chorus/flanger/reverb on it.

yeah - the virus Ti has a noise oscillator. So it will make a swoosh.
But you could just save yourself £1500 and use a free synth with a noise oscillator.
the most common psy-trance effect/lead sound - the nasty squelchy raspy one - is usually just a saw wave with plenty of pitch bend, some chorus/flanger/reverb. ANY synth will do this (although you might have to use other fx plugins)
You can make any sound you want using free synths. Please don't think you need a virus Ti. (I used to have one, but I sold it to buy a better computer).
