MPD 24 with ableton

What up y'all. I am a newer ableton user. I just myself an mpd 24 and I have it connected to launch tracks DJ style but what I really want to do is use it as a drum pad for production and I am having a hard time getting that to happen. Can anyone offer any advice?

This thread is a must if you're using the MPD24 with Live
