in other words opening zip files with out extracting files?

Although if it were possible, you could store all of your sample libraries in compressed format, access the archive and "extract" the file you wanted to use, and then simply save that file outside of the archive after editing for use in a project, or just save it back into the archive for future use.

zips dont do a hell of alot to audio

you want MP3 etc for that
