Live Doesn't Recognize My External Hard Drive - ???

I store my music on an external drive so that it doesn't eat up all my internal HD space. Since doing this I've just opened Live for the first time, assusming the external would pop-up in my file browser. Ooops, apparently not. The external appears on the desktop of my machine but isn't being recognized by Live. Can anyone give me some advice on how to fix this issue?
