Rewire / Sample Rates / Bit Depth / And the Host App.

I'm assuming Ableton is scoffing at the Sonar community for not bothering to list Rewire/Sonar details on their website. I've had some difficulties setting it up myself but it pertains to the unclear matters of sample rates and bit depth.

For example, I have to change the Project settings in Sonar to 44.1 and 16bit for Rewire with Ableton to work. Unfortunately this isn't the level of fidelity I want.



For anyone using different applications, do you ever need to change those settings to get it to work?

Does anyone know about these issues when dealing with host apps in rewire mode? If I have something recorded at 24bit in Ableton but then use rewire and mix it down in Sonar, what happens during that process?

Hi,

You should be able to use any Sampe rate/bit depth in Sonar, that your soundcard can handle. Is it different if you don't use Rewire? What kind of error do you see?
