It it possible to set a snapshot point for all my parameters
It it possible to set a snapshot point for all my parameters
So I have just sorted out a new version of my live setup, which consists of lots parameter changes using autohotkeys, some interesting things with bome's midi translator and the new discovery of instant mapping.
What this means is I get very lost now when i am changing parameters of my effects, which is great because I have so many more tangets to go on now, but when it's time to reset everything back to its normal value... I have to back track in my mind as to everything I have changed and set it back to default.
I'm sure there must be an easier way to do this rather than set up a command in bome's to send an exact midi value to every single parameter which I have the option of changing.
Hopefully it's something simple that I am overlooking.
Any advice would be much appreciated!
thanks

How about just save the project as a new name?
Then you can just reload it to get back to where you were.
I do wish Live had an auto-numbering scheme for saves, so first time you save something its sufiixed with 001, second time this is 002 etc so you have a complete save history and also most usefully - you could drive this from the save button on a daw controller.
Then you can just reload it to get back to where you were.

Nothing to see here - move along!
I'm pretty sure he's talking about live performance applications, where closing down and reloading would kill the groove.Khazul wrote:How about just save the project as a new name?

No Idea how to force ableton to send a snapshot to. e.g. a BCR2000?
Without saving, and reopening a ableton file?
Ableton sends all values from all midified controlles, after starting ableton, or loading a Abletonsong!
So ableton can do this! But we want a Button! SNAPSHOT SEND! In this button must be midifiy able!
Or is there anywhere a hitten SYSEX string? or a KEYcombination to do a Snapshot.
WHY a snaphsot? You can do COOOOOOOOOOL Things with a BCR2000.
But without a snapshot you only can use one Preset, with a snapshot function, you dont need a mackie emulation! then it is better
....why? come on, think a little bit!

Re: It it possible to set a snapshot point for all my parame
I wished for exactly the same thing already. And it still would be really nice to let the sound fly and land again on spot.COSM wrote:I get very lost now when i am changing parameters of my effects, which is great because I have so many more tangets to go on now, but when it's time to reset everything back to its normal value... (...)I often find it difficult to get the sounds back in shape in time(...)
So I´d like to make a snapshot of the Impulse/effect, then whirl the knobs and finally go back to the snapshot.
I wouldn´t have to worry about playing grooves with extremely stretched snaresounds anymore (can be fun, though)."
I thought long and hard about it and finally came to no solution.

Not sure if i'm getting this correctly. But you want a snapshot sent to reset the set parameters?
Just loading your Live set would do the trick. So that would require you making a habit of saving the set in an "initialized state".
If you wonna do it on the fly, you'll either need some MIDI routing trickery. Or you could send a snapshot from a MIDI Clip in Live. Unfortunately, not all the CC's are available. So if you go this route, you'd still require some CC rerouting.

Toggle midi map mode on then off to update your controller.

what if hes in session view jamming?forge wrote:I'm not sure I fully get you, but wouldnt the simplest way be to hit record and tweak everything to where you want it to be then delete all but one breakpoint, then you can use the BTA button
im interested in a solution for this aswell, but im "stuck" in session view.
d'oh! yep sorry, ignore me....friend_kami wrote:what if hes in session view jamming?forge wrote:I'm not sure I fully get you, but wouldnt the simplest way be to hit record and tweak everything to where you want it to be then delete all but one breakpoint, then you can use the BTA button

this is where we need sequence and automation seperated and BTA buttons for each track!
