Taking suggestions on settings for lowest latency

Post by MParnell » Wed Sep 19, 2007 2:46 pm

I was wondering what I can do to lower my latency settings.
I'm looking to get the quickest response possible when using Roland v drums to trigger impulse kits.
So far 10ms is my best latency setting I can get but I was wondering if there are other things I can do to help get it lower than that.

Thx

Indeed, some information about the system, os and soundcard / midi interface would help :)

Here some general things I found out recently when using Windows :
-
Disable your network adapter can make you have lower latency settings
-
Changing the performance options -> Processor scheduling to "Background services" helps improving processing audio / midi messages.
-

And offcourse, use ASIO drivers if available and try to configure it to use the lowest latency as possible (differs per soundcard)
