Could you please add some 'function' to color the midi notes?
like this pic (from logic 8 ).
thx
this will be very useufl when we want to make complex melodies, etc...so we can 'split' the higher/lower etc notes...
thx

Just for the record: The colors shown in the Logic 8 pic are not individually assignable colors, but are Logic's way to represent velocity, which in Live is realized by luminance of the notes.

Personally, I think that different colors are meaningless to determine velocity. I mean just look at the picture. Which ones are louder than the others...the yellow ones, the green ones? Ack.
I like the current way much better...it just makes sense at a quick glance, without going through the extra step of bothering to have to memorize what color means what velocity. With the colors, you have to stare at it an extra couple seconds and think harder for no reason.
It's much clearer to me that a note is louder the darker it is....rather than the red one being louder than a yellow one which is louder than a green one, etc, etc. The rainbow colors seem very non-intuitive to me. (for showing velocity info at least)

Absolutely! I personally also prefer the way Live represents velocities.

I also would like arbitrary assignable colors for MIDI notes. That's because I have synesthesia and my brain remembers notes better if colors are associated to it.
There are many other artists with the same neurological condition
