cutting a song up

im really new at this so the answer might be really obvious, but is there any way to cut up mp3s into its different instruments on live?

Hey chief.

Not sure what you really mean but mp3's are compressed files.
They can be edited in that you can edit the entire file.
But as far as cuttin "it up into its different instruments on live" -
no, this is not possible.
Not using Live or any other program I'm aware of.
