Has to be one of the most requested features for the longest in Live.
It goes against all that Live is.
Also, more than 8 macros has to be one the easiest to implement.
I would also say that no midi learn is one the worst omissions, if you have ever mapped a controller completely and changed presets and lost everything. If there can't be per device midi learn (like VSTs), it would be good to at least be able to lock devices down so you don't lose your midi learn....
But seriously, back to the title -
L7 - NO Recording Automation Into Session -WTF???

Oh man forgot about this, I'm disappointed too.
I might assume that this might cause some sort of problem with switching between clips in session mode.
Maybe, automation needs to have a little bit of lookahead in order to change so quickly?
Although it probably wouldn't be able to handle live input of midi data.
I have no idea, I don't know how to code anything.
Weird they would overlook this.
I too would love to know the reason.

i wouldnt put it the same way, because this is a really good upgrade, but i would say it like this-
is it impossible? too much work(i.e u would have to completely recode live to do it)? are the cpu's these days not up to the task? i just have to wonder why i guess.
maybe someone should write the ableton staff and ask them.
