Hello.
I am running 6.0.10 on a PPC Mac G5 Dual 2.0 Ghz machine with 1.5 GB RAM and a MOTU 828 mkII clocked by an Apogee Big Ben at 48khz.
I have 'Multiprocessor Support' turned on in preferences. Latency buffer set to 512 to start. Plug-in buffer size 1024.
I have one instance of Reaktor 5 in a MIDI track. One Audio Track with a 24 bit file. An instance of Live's Filter Delay in Return A and an instance of Reaktor FX with two Spacemaster reverbs, plus Live Compressor in Return B.
With Live idling, cpu is at 66%. Running it causes typical cpu overload glitches. Increasing the latency buffer to max does nothing.
Admittedly Reaktor is a processor hog BUT....I do not have this problem in Logic. I can run many more plug-ins/instruments, plus automation and have no problems.
I think Live is not utilizing both processors even though I have it enabled in preferences.

Multiprocesor Support?

Live's processor allocation works per track, which means that each track is sent to a different processor/core. To check if the multiprocessor support works fine, create a track with a number of plugins so that it uses a certain amount of CPU power (i.e. 20%). Now right-click the track's title bar and choose 'duplicate'. The overall CPU load should now still be around 20%, maybe a wee bit more (22-23%).

Sounds a bit much indeed. What happens when you remove the 3 Reaktor instances?With Live idling, cpu is at 66%.
