Create Analysis File NOT Working!!!

Post by 4ace » Tue Oct 23, 2007 12:34 am

I've got some 30-35 min. AAC file's that live will not create analysis files for.

Any idea's why?

I've got everything checked as in Preferences that is supposed to be and Live WILL create .asd files on short acc files.

This leaves me guessing there is a size limit???

I did a search that came up empty and couldn't find anything in the manual.

Any help or ideas would be great.

Hi,

So, "create analysis file" is ON in the Preferences, you drag the file in Live, it is decoded (a Wav version is created in the Temp files foder", then you set the warping, click the "save" button in the detail view for the clip, and then, you see no .asd file in your OS explorer, associated with that AAC file?

Does it work for shorter AAC files/other file formats?

O.K Never had THIS Problem before so let it be known....

The Folder that Contained the AAC files needed to be "Authenticated" for changes to be made. Therefore not allowing Live to place the .asd files next to there source audio file as normal.

I don't understand how or why this folder act's in this way but it does.

So to solve this isuue i simply copied the files to a new folder and VOILA' the .asd files are being created as normal.

New one to me.....hope this help's other's

Hi,

Are you using Windows or OSX? In Windows, the folder could be set to "read only" for some reason..

Nonetheless, I guess that has nothing to do with Live..
